Second only to Kentucky in the production of Thoroughbred race horses, Ocala has become the Mecca of the horse industry. With over 800 horse farms in Marion County , many different breeds of horses and types of riding and driving flourish here. This link with the agricultural The Villages Fountainiindustry has allowed Ocala to keep its small town charm, with rolling, green fields and majestic oak-shaded roads, while maturing into a small city with diverse interests and businesses.

But, we're not just a one trick pony, education and the arts are an integral part of Ocala/Marion County.
