In The Villages
An active 55+ community, The Villages is located about 20 miles south of Ocala and 60 miles northwest of Orlando, spanning parts of Lake, Marion, and Sumter Counties, and encompasses 5.6 square miles.
The
Villages is a golf
cart community, with special transportation trails built for golf carts, and is comprised
of "hometown" communities tied together with turn-of-the-century type downtown
squares where free entertainment is available every night. Every aspect of
comfortable living is available to you there, from dining to shopping to golf (8
championship golf courses) all within a short walk or golf
car ride from your front door. The list of activities available to you is nearly
endless including shopping, entertainments, sports or social clubs, and even
includes a polo field!
The Villages has utilized the latest concepts in neighborhood and community planning to better serve its residents' needs without sacrificing its charm or friendliness.
Just outside of The Villages is the town of Lady Lake, where the streets are lined with old oak trees draped in Spanish moss, the countryside dotted with orange groves and glistening lakes beckon. Another retirement destination, Lady Lake combines the serenity of country living with proximity to all the best services to be found in larger cities.
Because
of this population sector, The Villages and Lady Lake have maintained their home
values and it remains a very popular destination for baby boomers. Condos,
townhomes and villas are often the home style of choice as well as single
family homes. Ease of living is the hallmark of this area.
